FINTECH | LATAM | FULL-TIME | POST-SEED

Senior UI/UX Designer

Mobile, Web & Brand

Location Remote, Latin America
Type Full-time
Stage Post-seed
Reports to Founder & CEO
Compensation $60,000 to $80,000 USD plus equity

About the role

The company is a pre-launch fintech startup building the first dedicated stock gifting app. We make it easy for anyone to give or receive real stocks as gifts, paired with built-in financial education that makes investing fun and approachable.

We are seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to own the end-to-end design of the company's product across web and mobile. This is a foundational creative role. You will define the visual language, design system, and user experience for everything from the giver's first interaction to the moment a recipient opens their first stock gift. You will partner directly with the Founder, the Frontend Engineer, and the Lead Engineer to bring the product to life. The company is a gifting product first and a fintech product second. The experience must feel warm, celebratory, and emotionally resonant while handling the complexity of financial flows underneath.

What you'll own

■ Own the full product design for the company, including mobile (iOS and Android) and web.
■ Core flows to design across both sides of the product:
› Giver flow: account creation, bank linking, gift creation, stock selection, checkout, and gift tracking.
› Recipient flow: SMS claim link landing, account opening (KYC), gift reveal, investment election, and portfolio view.
› Home screen, active gifts feed, portfolio, transaction history, and notifications.
› Achievements and gamification system: badges, milestones, and progress states.
■ Create and maintain a comprehensive design system with reusable components, typography, color, and iconography aligned with the company's navy and gold brand.
■ Design the gift reveal and opening experience, the emotional centerpiece of the product, equivalent to unwrapping a gift.
■ Design graceful error and edge-case states for complex financial flows. Payment failures, expired gifts, KYC rejections, and pending ACH states should feel handled, not alarming.
■ Deliver production-ready Figma files with detailed specs, component libraries, and annotations for the frontend engineer.
■ Conduct lightweight user research and usability testing to validate key flows before build.
■ Collaborate with the Frontend Engineer to ensure implementation fidelity and provide design QA during development.
■ Contribute to the company's visual identity across marketing touchpoints, including social assets, landing page, and waitlist materials.

What we're looking for

■ 5+ years of UI/UX design experience, with a strong portfolio of consumer mobile and web products.
■ Deep expertise in Figma, including component-based design systems, auto layout, prototyping, and developer handoff.
■ Experience designing for both iOS and Android, following platform conventions while maintaining a consistent brand identity.
■ Proven ability to design complex multi-step onboarding and verification flows. You understand that a fintech app's onboarding is its most critical conversion point.
■ Experience designing for financial products such as investment apps, neobanks, payment platforms, or wallets, where trust, clarity, and simplicity are non-negotiable.
■ Strong understanding of information hierarchy, motion design principles, and micro-interaction patterns that make a product feel polished and alive.
■ Ability to balance emotional product design (gifting, celebration, delight) with the precision and clarity that financial information demands.
■ Comfortable working in a zero-to-one environment. You are building a design system from scratch, not iterating on an existing one.
■ Fluent in English for written and verbal communication with a US-based founder and engineering team.
■ Based in Latin America with strong timezone overlap with US Central or Eastern time.

Nice to have

■ Experience designing for Plaid Link, KYC and identity verification flows, or brokerage account onboarding.
■ Motion design experience using Lottie animations or After Effects for the gift reveal and achievement unlock moments.
■ Experience with user research, usability testing, or rapid prototyping for validation.
■ Prior startup experience. You know how to make high-quality design decisions quickly with limited resources.
■ Familiarity with React Native design constraints and component-based development handoff.

Compensation & benefits

■ Competitive salary: $60,000 to $80,000 USD, benchmarked to senior LATAM market rates.
■ Equity participation. You are joining at the ground floor.
■ Fully remote. Work from anywhere in Latin America.
■ Flexible hours with a strong async culture and daily overlap with US Central or Eastern time.
■ Direct creative collaboration with the Founder. Real ownership of the product vision, not just execution.
