Overview
At Lupa, we're hiring for a Territory Sales Manager to launch and lead a fast-growing automation business across Chile and the broader Latin American market. This is a rare opportunity to be the first feet on the street in a largely untapped territory — someone who can build a strategy from the ground up, not just execute an existing playbook.
You'll represent a global manufacturer in the electrical and automation space — spanning process automation, machine automation, and motor control — serving both NEMA and IEC standards. Because the region is currently underserved, the earning and growth potential here is significant. Think of this as a chance to build something: to define the go-to-market approach, win early customers, and eventually help seed a full team of territory sales managers across Latin America.
Based in Santiago, this remote role is ideal for a seasoned, strategic commercial professional who thrives on autonomy and wants their fingerprints on how a market gets built.
What You'll Do
Build, own, and execute a commercial growth strategy for Chile and the broader Latin American territory.
Develop new business across process industries, process automation, machine automation, and motor control segments.
Manage and grow relationships with reps and distributors, aligning channel partners to a unified go-to-market approach.
Understand customer requirements and translate them into the right solution — regardless of whether that means NEMA or IEC standards — coordinating with manufacturing teams to build and present tailored offerings.
Seek internal approval and support for your regional plan, then drive it to results.
Travel to the US (Pittsburgh area) and Germany for training and collaboration with technical and manufacturing teams.
Serve as the strategic on-the-ground presence that lays the foundation for a future team of territory sales managers in the region.
Who You Are
Must-haves:
A seasoned, strategic commercial professional — later in your career and comfortable operating between a manager and director level.
Proven experience in industrial automation, electrical, or related technical sales (e.g., electric motors, machine automation, process automation, motor control).
Track record of managing reps and distributors and building channel strategy.
Strong ability to build a plan from scratch, secure buy-in, and execute independently in a market with little existing structure.
Fluent professional English (for US and Germany training and collaboration) in addition to Spanish.
Based in or able to be based in Santiago, Chile.
A valid US travel visa, or the ability to obtain one, for periodic training trips. ⚠️ Needs recruiter input: confirm visa expectations and whether Lupa/client will support the visa process.
Nice-to-haves:
Experience with both NEMA and IEC electrical standards.
Background at leading automation/electrical companies (e.g., Siemens, ABB, Schneider, Eaton) or similar.
Exposure to the mining sector and other Latin American centers of excellence.
Prior experience selling for an international or US-headquartered manufacturer.
What's In It For You
Compensation: Estimated total annual compensation of USD 120,000–150,000 for the Chile-based role, positioned at the higher end of the market to attract top talent. ⚠️ Needs recruiter input: final salary band and base/variable split to be confirmed through market mapping.
Employment structure: Full-time employment via an Employer of Record (Globalization Partners), paid in local currency with full local statutory benefits — the same rights and benefits you'd expect from a domestic employer. ⚠️ Needs recruiter input: EOR arrangement in Chile pending legal due diligence.
Growth: A ground-floor opportunity in a largely untapped market — the potential to build a book of business and grow into a regional sales leadership role as the team expands across Latin America.
Global exposure: International training in the US and Germany, and collaboration with world-class manufacturing and technical teams.
Schedule: Full-time, remote, Santiago-based. ⚠️ Needs recruiter input: confirm working hours and expected timezone overlap with US (Eastern) teams.
