Overview

At Lupa, we're hiring a Music Rights Operations Coordinator – Opposition to join a fast-moving creator economy team at the intersection of music, technology, and digital media. This role sits within a leading music rights and content management division that partners with prominent artists and labels to protect and grow their intellectual property across YouTube and other streaming platforms.

You'll be on the front lines of rights management—claiming content, safeguarding IP, and helping artists and labels maximize their revenue in the digital world.

What You'll Do

  • Perform daily manual claiming of clients' intellectual property on YouTube and other platforms as needed.

  • Review content on online video platforms (such as YouTube) to discover and claim user-generated content containing our partners' music and creator IP, applying the correct claiming assets and monetization policies.

  • Review potential issues for content claims and YouTube Content ID references to ensure they comply with all internal and external claiming guidelines and YouTube policies.

  • Respond quickly and effectively to claiming requests from partners and clients.

  • Review and report claiming opportunities for the content and music sales teams, analyzing channels for missed or infringed content and securing approvals.

  • Maintain the Rights Management Portal, ensuring all partner applications and assets carry proper metadata (including sales rep details for commission purposes).

  • Support data import processes by formatting and validating CSV/XLSX files before ingestion into internal systems.

  • Manage the distribution and label catalogue, coordinating with marketing teams and talent managers so releases are ingested correctly across all Digital Streaming Platforms.

  • Directly ingest distribution and label releases to YouTube Content ID and Art Tracks.

  • Support the Head of Music with operational needs as required.

Who You Are

Must-haves:

  • Understanding of musical composition and the elements that make up a full recorded song or music video.

  • Understanding of copyrights and how they relate to music and digital video.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to spot data inconsistencies and formatting errors in medium-to-large datasets.

  • Strong passion for music, technology, and digital media.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Post-secondary education or certification in the music or analytics fields.

  • Basic understanding of data visualization (creating simple charts/graphs) to support reporting.

  • Prior experience with YouTube Content ID, rights management, or digital distribution workflows.

  • English proficiency
